1.FIRE SAFETY MEASURES: Fire safety equipment including fire extinguisher, alarm etc. have already been installed at different places of the school premises.
- Mock drill cum awareness program and fire audit inspection of PM SHRI. Kendriya Vidyalaya Santragachi was done on 04thMay, 2024 at 7.30 a.m. sharp. The mock-drill cum awareness program and fire audit inspection was carried by Shibpur Fire Station under Howrah Division. Under this program fire safety drills are conducted twice a year in which students and teachers get the practical experience of dealing emergency situation. During the mock-drill for fire-safety held on 4th May, 2024 at 7.30 a.m. a large number of parents participated and were trained by the fire safety officers.
- Emergency Preparedness:Two programs regarding emergency preparedness like evacuation in emergency situation have been held during this academic year. Posters indicating particular exit points for different classes have been under use for the same purpose. Besides, to cope with various emergency situation various workshops and training sessions are also held with a frequent interval.
- Adequate number of CCTV cameras have been installed in proper places of necessity like (classrooms, entry and exit points, corridors, near the canteen, assembly ground etc.). PGT Computer Science, Computer instructor and SUPW teacher regularly monitor all the CCTV footages especially which are installed inside classrooms.
- Parents and local community are pre-informed about the program or activity related to safety and security of the students. Parents participate actively in such type of activity. A meeting was conducted on 12-07-2024 in PM SHRI. Kendriya Vidyalaya Santragachi for the safety and security of students and road safety by Howrah Police. This meeting was especially called in liaison with Howrah Police to train the pool car/vehicle drivers of those pool cars by which students come to school. Many police officers were present in the meeting. They discussed all the safety measures related to students with pool car drivers. They even checked the license of drivers and documents of vehicle.
